Section, Regional, and National Leadership
The Order of the Arrow’s Structure
The Order of the Arrow (OA) is organized into four main levels: National, Region, Section, and Lodge.
At the National level, the OA is guided by national policies and procedures and led by the National Chief and National Vice Chief, who represent Arrowmen across the country.
Below that are the Regions. The OA is divided into two regions — Gateway and Eastern. Tahosa Lodge is part of the Gateway Region, which supports and connects the sections within its boundaries. The region ensures that national policies are properly implemented and helps coordinate regional events such as the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) and Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC). Each year, the Gateway Region is led by the elected Gateway Region Chief.
Within each region are several Sections. Tahosa Lodge belongs to Section G12S, which brings together multiple lodges for collaboration, leadership development, and fellowship. Section leadership works directly with lodge officers and advisers, gathers information to share with the region, and organizes large-scale events — most notably the annual Section Conclave. The Conclave features training sessions, competitions, and shows, and concludes with the election of the Section Chief, Section Vice Chief, and Section Secretary.
At the local level, each Lodge serves as the heart of the OA experience for its members, promoting brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service within its council.
